We work with our family affiliated Royal Enfield Social Mission to identify areas in the Himalayas where we can support and source directly from traditional knowledge-keepers and artisanal producers.
The Lal Family has been actively funding diverse initiatives for girl child education, hospitals, along with supporting preservation of cultural and ecological heritage across the country.
Goodearth Heritage Foundation, a division of The Lal Family Foundation has funded an initiative since 2016 by the Villageways Charitable Trust for creating awareness of improved Health, Hygiene and Women empowerment in the remote Pindar and Sarayu valleys of Himalayan region.

In 2025, a monsoon cloudburst and landslides tore through Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh, taking homes, livelihoods and access to entire villages overnight. With the support of the Lal Foundation, relief and reconstruction began at once, alongside the affected communities at every step of their recovery.
This initiative was not merely about rebuilding infrastructure — it was about rebuilding lives, livelihoods, and hope. The communities of Mandi district are deeply grateful, and their resilience in the face of such devastation has been truly humbling to witness.

At the government school in Palchan, the Foundation built and equipped a computer laboratory, donated the computers, and appointed a computer teacher whose salary it continues to support, so students can build digital skills that were previously out of reach.

Palchan had long asked for a dedicated Panchayat office to serve the village. The Foundation funded its construction, meeting a need the community had raised for years.

Founded by Sudarshana Thakur in 2007, Radha is a home in the hills for abandoned girls and women, offering shelter, schooling and skills training under one roof. To help the women there build toward independence, the Lal Foundation donated a commercial oven and ran bakery training, turning a new skill into a possible livelihood.
Through our work in capacity building, design-led innovation, financial support, and the archiving and documentation of tangible and intangible practices, the foundation shapes and protects a thriving cultural landscape. One where heritage crafts are self-reliant, communities flourish through sustainable livelihoods, and the spirit of making continues to evolve with time.
